If you thought bear making was all glamor. Think again. Along with all the good looking men and fast cars, it's lot's of hard work early morning and late nights. Here I am burning the midnight oil on Barb's Mink Bear. You would be bear makers should not be discouraged though.
	About me.   I was born in Derby, Kansas (as Donna Somers). I grew up in Mulvane and graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Since then I've been stuck  with an old man who drug me to California where we still live. I have been making soft sculpture since 1980 and Mohair Bears since 1992. My first bears were placed at shows and sold retail in the Sandpiper of Pismo Beach California. I've also made a variety of bears from recycled and Heirloom furs. Bears seem a great way to pass on a piece of that old mink coat to your kids and grandkids.   All of the bears shown on this site are one of a kind.
